Six Kerala-based international-level chess players who are college students founded the edtech startup "Eight Times Eight" in 2020, and  the company raises $5 million in pre-seed funding. The startup co-founders have all represented India in international events. In September 2021, they started working full-time.

AlmaBetter, a business in edtech upskilling, raises $2.7 million in seed funding led by Kalaari Capital and more than 15 angel investors and tech company founders.

boAt, the D2C electronics company, has secured INR 500 Cr ($61 million) from existing investors, a Warburg Pincus affiliate, and new investor Malabar Investments. The D2C electronics brand intended to use the incoming funding to support company growth. The company aims to scale up domestically and internationally through all channels and regions.

DeHaat, a full-stack agritech platform, raises Rs 366.6 crore ($46 million) led by Sofina Ventures.

Edtech startup Physics Wallah, which recently became a unicorn, has acquired PrepOnline, an online learning platform for the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET), and Altis Vortex, a publisher of exam preparation books.

"Wishlink," the creator-led link-sharing commerce startup, raises $3 million in a seeding fund round led by Elevation Capital.

D2C pet care startup Goofy Tails raised a funding of USD 5 Lakh(around Rs 4.11 crore) led by BeyondSeed, a Singapore-based investor group, and The Chennai Angels, with participation from other overseas angel investors.
