Leading restaurant aggregator Swiggy has launched a new standalone app called “Pyng Professional” to enter the professional services marketplace. Incidentally, this launch comes months after Swiggy sought to pilot “Yello” for customers to get services from professionals earlier reported by The Economic Times.
What is Swiggy's new app all about?
Pyng Professional, similar to Chinese tech giants like Alibaba and Meituan with multiple apps under the group for various services is slated to launch soon.
It would host a range of services from enlisted professionals such as lawyers, astrologers, therapists, educational consultants, yoga trainers, career mentors, digital artists, nutritionists, fitness experts, financial consultants, etc.
Features of Pyng Professional
-
Order management: Enlisted professionals can view, accept, and track orders, as well as utilise the app’s dashboard to collect information regarding digital product sales, webinar bookings, and consultations.
-
Availability and pricing: The professionals can also set their availability, update pricing, and manage bookings through the app.
-
Payout process: The inbuilt payout tracker enables users to keep tabs on their earnings.
Additionally, the app serves as an “all-in-one solution” provider integrating catalogues and Google Calendar.
“The idea is to have multiple available options and some users will opt for separate apps for different needs,” Swiggy’s contact person said. [Source: The Economic Times]
Foodtech major Swiggy has recently announced its new app SNACC as a separate 15-minute food delivery app besides Dineout.
SNACC and Pyng Professional being launched as separate apps marks another shift in Swiggy's super-app strategy. Before these two launches, Swiggy opted to keep all its services, Instamart, Dineout, and events and entertainment offering Scenes within the main app. Even its quick food delivery service Bolt was housed within the app.
Swiggy’s rival Zomato has already launched a 15-minute food delivery service within the main app. Moreover, its quick commerce firm Blinkit has started a 10-minute food delivery app, Bistro.
Zepto is also scaling its food business through a separate app, Zepto Cafe.
