About Clean Slate Filmz

Clean Slate Filmz is a Mumbai-based film and web content production company co-founded in October 2013 by actress Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Sharma. The banner built a reputation for backing unconventional, female-led, and genre-driven stories that depart from mainstream Hindi cinema tropes.

In March 2022, Anushka Sharma stepped away from the company to focus on her acting career, with Karnesh Sharma taking sole charge of operations.

The studio made its theatrical debut with NH10, followed by Phillauri and Pari. In the streaming space, it gained wider acclaim with Paatal Lok and Netflix originals such as Bulbbul and Qala.

In 2022, the company entered into a multi-title content partnership, reportedly valued at around Rs 400 crore, with Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to produce a slate of projects. However, parts of the collaboration were later scaled back, and projects such as Chakda 'Xpress faced release delays.
