Knot.dating makes an exception on salary criteria for IAS, IPS, and IRS officers
In a recent development, the controversial matchmaking app, Knot.dating, has introduced a feature that will allow Class A government officers like IAS, IPS, and IRS to register themselves while bypassing the strict salary filter set for other men in private jobs.
Knot.dating, founded by Jasveer Singh and Abhishek Asthana, is a new artificial intelligence-powered matrimonial app that only registers men who are earning Rs 50 lakh or above in a year. For women, however, there is no salary bracket.
But now, the founders have added an exception for IAS, IPS, and IRS officers in response to numerous requests from families to include them.
WHY THE NEW RULE
According to co-founder and CEO Jasveer Singh, Class A government officers “felt unfairly excluded due to a high salary bar.”
“Government salaries rarely cross 50 lakh, but these roles come with stability, respect, and influence - qualities that matter in marriage. You don’t measure an IAS officer’s value in just rupees, their position itself is proof of capability and ambition. We wanted to recognize the prestige, stability, and leadership these roles bring, which is why we’re making this an exception, while keeping the 50L rule intact for the private sector,” he told a news portal.
Knot.dating is firm on its stance that the AI-powered matchmaking app does not just prioritize pay checks. It also values life trajectory, ambition, and stability.
Adding to this, Jasveer said,“Private jobs can be volatile. A government job signals commitment and security, even if the pay isn’t 50L.”
This move has already begun to draw criticism from people who believe this is a “preferential treatment” towards IAS, IPS, and IRS officers. On the other hand, some believe a government job carries a lot of value and Class A officers deserve the exception.
AI-POWERED MATCHMAKING
Startup Pedia had earlier reported that Knot.dating focuses on a conversational AI that blends with human-assisted matchmaking and suggests matches with high compatibility.
Once a user speaks to the system for a few minutes, the AI catches on to their personality, communication patterns, and emotional intelligence. With these results, it suggests matching individuals with similar or compatible traits.
