Zomato launches new offers on Independence Day 2025
As a part of Independence Day celebrations, food delivery platform Zomato has announced free delivery on select orders from August 14 to 17.
Zomato's Independence Day offers
As announced by the company and now live on the Zomato app, Gold members will get free delivery on orders above Rs 99, which was earlier Rs 199.
Additionally, Zomato Gold membership is available for Re 1.
“By lowering the free delivery threshold for our Zomato Gold members, we aim to make online ordering more rewarding—encouraging customers to enjoy everyday meals while discovering more restaurants,” Aditya Mangla, chief executive of food delivery business Eternal, told the Economic Times.
“This change not only offers greater value to our Gold members but also supports our restaurant partners during this important time of year,” he added.
The announcement comes shortly after Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal urged India’s economic and strategic self-reliance.

Deepinder Goyal urges India to be self-reliant
In light of recent US tariff hikes, he remarked that India should embrace its potential and position itself as a global superpower.
In his post on X, Goyal said that the powerful nations have always tried to “bully” India in some way or the other.
“Every few years, the world reminds us of our place,” Goyal said. “A threat here, a tariff there. But the message is the same: stay in your lane, India.”
The Zomato boss further added that the global powers will always bully us, unless we take our destiny into our own hands.
“And the only way to do that is if we collectively decide to become the world's largest most unapologetic superpower in the world,” Deepinder Goyal wrote on X. “In economy, in technology, in defense, and most importantly, in ambition.”
