Quick commerce platform Zepto is in the works to strengthen its position in Tamil Nadu by opening 20 new dark stores. The company has now begun operations in many districts in the state, including Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Vellore and Salem.
Zepto is set to expand operations in Tamil Nadu by opening 20 more dark stores in the state, and each one is strategically located within 2-3 km of each other to maximise efficiency so that delivery partners can deliver orders and keep Zepto’s promises of 10-minute deliveries while staying safe.
The Quick Commerce platform is now serviceable in locations beyond Chennai. Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Vellore, and Salem are among the districts that can enjoy the 10-minute delivery service.
"Tamil Nadu is a key market for Zepto, with its dynamic urban centres and strong demand for convenience. Expanding our services not only allows the sellers to serve users faster but also creates new opportunities for local businesses," said Zepto Chief Growth Officer Divesh Sawhney.
The CGO also added, "We are committed to bringing speed, quality, and affordability to every doorstep while deepening our connection with the community.”
More than 100 farmers from areas like Palacode and Pallachi will now be offering tender coconuts and fresh veggies to Zepto User and other customers across Tamil Nadu.

Zepto Café has recently achieved a significant milestone of processing 100,000 orders per day. This announcement came within two weeks of reaching the 75,000 daily orders mark.
Zepto founder Aadit Palicha took to X to share this incredible news. This achievement has put the QSR on track to achieve an annualised Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV) run rate of $100 million, demonstrating remarkable growth in a highly competitive sector.
With an estimated steady-state gross margin of almost 50%, Zepto Café has made a name for itself as a formidable competitor to popular QSR businesses in India.
