Recently, a Reddit post about an employee’s bizarre exit from a Gurugram-based startup has gone viral on social media. According to the post, his employer accused him of having an “attitude problem" and not being “down to earth” right after joining the company.
Man shares story of getting fired for having “attitude problem"
“So, I joined this startup in Gurgaon and on the third day, my employer tells me I’m not down to earth, I have an attitude problem and this way we can’t work together," the user wrote.
Though confused, the man assured his boss he would work on it.
“I didn’t understand, still I said I don’t have an attitude, I’ll work on it, although I did not even understand why he was saying that," he added.
The matter worsened when the employer disapproved of his casual tea and smoke breaks with fellow new joinees.
“Don’t create groups, it’s not good for the company," his boss warned him.
Even his habit of leaving on time became a concern.
“You are leaving exactly at 7, this is not good," the employer accused him.
On the 20th day, the startup director asked him to shift to his cabin.
“For some days you’ll be working here only," the man shared.
“Dude who works like that in a cabin all day with your director," he remarked.
Though the setup felt strange, he agreed.
On the 20th day of work, as he was glancing outside the cabin to check if his colleagues had gone for their usual tea break, the director fumed at him.
“Why are you looking outside, I’m talking here?" he asked.
The user claimed that the director then called the HR and he was terminated on the spot.
