Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran announced plans to create 5 lakh manufacturing jobs over the next five years that would lead to economic growth in the country.
The Vision for Job Creation
Chandrasekaran said the new jobs would not be limited to a particular region or industry. "This is in addition to the many services jobs we expect to introduce across retail, tech services, airlines, and hospitality, among other sectors," he wrote in his annual letter to group employees.

Milestones Achieved in 2024
Looking back at the year 2024, Chandrasekaran shared several key milestones achieved by the Tata Group. Groundbreaking ceremonies took place at over seven new manufacturing plants, indicating the company's commitment to expanding its manufacturing capabilities.
Strategic Locations for Manufacturing Plants
Notable projects include India's first semiconductor fab in Dholera, Gujarat, and an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facility in Assam. The expansion also includes an electronics assembly plant in Narasapura, Karnataka, and an automotive plant in Panapakkam, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, new MRO facilities were established in Bengaluru, Karnataka, further strengthening the company's presence in the aerospace sector.
Global Expansion
The Tata Group's manufacturing footprint extends beyond India, with new battery cell manufacturing factories being set up in Sanand, Gujarat, and Somerset, UK.
The inauguration of the C295 final assembly line in Vadodara, Gujarat, and the commencement of solar module production in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, are notable achievements pointing to the company's global expansion efforts.
