Sumanth Raghavendra, co-founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based AI-Powered startup Presentations.ai, made a hilarious comparison on the social media platform X between the journey of securing funding and the troubles of dating. Many entrepreneurs and investors resonate with Raghavendra's thoughts, making his X post viral.

Raghavendra’s Post on X

Raghavendra’s viral X post garnered around 29.1k views and reads as follows:

“Startup funding is just like dating. When you’re desperate, no one’s interested.

When you’re thriving, suddenly everyone’s in love.VCs ignored us for ages - now they’re practically proposing even before the first date!” Raghavendra shared on his LinkedIn post.

He added that he’ll just sit back and enjoy the ride while also shedding light on the irony of the situation.

Netizens React

His humorous take on the startup funding process has sparked a lively discussion among founders and investors alike, with netizens pouring in their views on the matter.

One user added, “It's like dating a few months of rejection, then boom, everyone wants to swipe right. Enjoy the ride, but don’t forget to keep your standards high!”

Another person commented, “With the cost of software and infrastructure coming down, it is becoming easier to build and deliver products and services.” Building on Raghavendra’s initial thought, this user added, "Founders should start building without even thinking about VC capital. Bootstrapping is the way forward. Raising a few initial rounds should be sufficient for moving forward.”

Another user said, “Yes, the less you bother to care, the more the queue of chasers,” agreeing with the Presentation.ai CEO.

$3 Million Seed Investment

The AI-powered platform reinventing business communication had announced earlier this year that it raised $3 million in seed investment. The funding round led by Accel marks the culmination of a 10-year partnership between the venture capital firm and the startup, defying Silicon Valley’s “fail fast” dogma to deliver what industry analysts call “the most patient success story in SaaS history.”
