Chandrababu Naidu expresses confidence in Amaravati
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed his keenness in making the Amaravati Capital relaunch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a grand success while aiming to complete construction of the capital within three years.
Incidentally, the CM held a meeting with his cabinet colleagues and senior officers at his Undavalli residence on Sunday and shared how the previous YSRC government had made “several conspiracies” to undermine the construction of AP’s capital at Amaravati.
The coalition government has finalised contractors for major projects, including the Secretariat, Assembly and High Court buildings, and is preparing to commence work immediately after PM Modi does the inauguration.
A Cabinet subcommittee comprising Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Municipal Minister Ponguru Narayana, and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar has reviewed the preparations in Vijayawada.
Speaking on the occasion, Payyavula Keshav urged officials from all departments to coordinate properly to ensure that the PM’s visit is a huge success.
Calling Amaravati a ‘self-financing project’, he said it would not cause an additional burden on the State’s exchequer. He pointed out the importance of ensuring food, drinking water and other basic facilities for attendees and instructed officials to upgrade the conditions of the roads leading to the event venue.
The event marking the relaunch of works on the construction of Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravati, should be conducted in such a way that every citizen of the State is filled with pride that “this is my Andhra Pradesh... my capital Amaravati,” Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated on Sunday.
He further said that Amaravati is the self-respect, sentiment and aspiration of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Expressing confidence, the CM said that Amaravati will generate revenue and create employment opportunities for all sections of people.
