Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal is again in public attention for all the wrong reasons. Recently, a parked Ola scooter burst into flames right outside an Ola Electric showroom in BTM Layout in Bengaluru. The video capturing this incident is doing the rounds on social media.

Congress spokesperson Lavanya Ballal shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) captioning, “Just another fiery day in the life of Ola scooter owner.”

The video has gone viral as several users started reacting to it ridiculing the Ola CEO.

One commented, “Ola Electric scooter is the latest firecracker in the market for this Diwali.”

Another user remarked, "The person must have bought it for Diwaali celebration. @bhash the scamster is selling substandard products to gullible customers. He should be booked for cheating."

“Nobody is taking any responsibility. Worst scooter ever in indian market," wrote another.

Ola founder in deep trouble

Incidentally, Ola electric scooters have been repeatedly in recent news for multiple complaint posts and poor customer care services.  Bengaluru woman recently shared a protest post against the Ola Electric scooter company on X (formerly Tweeter). She got so frustrated with her newly purchased electric scooter that she took to X and posted a photo of her two-wheeler along with an attached placard that read, "Dear Kannadigas, Ola is a useless two-wheeler. If you buy one, it only makes your life hard. Please do not buy an Ola Electric scooter."

Nisha Gowri, the disgruntled customer, regretted purchasing the vehicle so much that she cautioned others on social media to refrain from making the same choice.

However, Ola Electric claims that customer complaints were addressed promptly. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) even issued a show-cause notice to the company on October 7, for misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices, and violation of consumer rights.

The CCPA granted the company a 15-day notice period for response. In reply, Ola Electric stated that 99% of customer complaints were resolved.
