Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella announced the tech mogul's $3 billion investment to boost India’s AI and cloud ecosystem in his keynote session at the Microsoft AI Tour in Bengaluru.
"This is the golden age for systems when it comes to innovation," Nadella said.

In a recent post on X, Nadella wrote, “Thrilled to announce our new investments in AI infrastructure and skilling in India to help accelerate the country’s AI transformation” sharing a picture of him making the announcement on stage.

Sharing Microsoft's vision to empower developers and businesses with AI, the Microsoft boss said in the session that the next 12 months will be crucial as developers combine cutting-edge tools into their workflows.
Elaborating on Microsoft's comprehensive approach to AI, the CEO remarked the company has built an extensive network of over 300 data centres globally to support AI workloads and secure reliability at scale.
Nadella said that "AI doesn't sit on its own" remarking that Microsoft is building the required compute stack.
The Microsoft CEO met PM Modi on Monday to discuss a wide range of topics, including technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovation.
Thanking PM Modi, Nadella took to platform X and wrote, “Excited to build on our commitment to making India AI-first and work together on our continued expansion in the country to ensure every Indian benefits from this AI platform shift.”
