Recently, popular travel vlogger, Shafeek Hashim (of 70mm vlogs) with more than 28,000 subscribers decided to use his bald head for ‘billboard’ marketing.

After securing a brand deal with a hair transplant clinic La Densitae, Shafeek even posted an open invitation inviting brands to advertise on his ‘bald head’ via a video on social media.

“I expect better offers in the future. This is the first time in the world a person is offering his head as a billboard,” the YouTube vlogger added.

He pitched Rs. 50,000 for any ad on his ‘baldboard.’

According to Marketing & Communications strategist Sonali M., influencer marketing is reaching new heights with such tactics.

“Attention is currency, and he found a way to cash in,” she wrote in a LinkedIn post.

While people might ignore online ads, skip commercials, and scroll past sponsored posts, such weird gimmicks are bound to draw attention.

“Though— It’s weird, it’s bold, it’s working,” she commented. “Brands want eyeballs, and he’s giving them a walking, talking ad.”
