Google brings 1 year of free Gemini AI Pro subscription worth ₹19,500 for Indian students

Google is bringing a special offer for Indian students, allowing them free access to its Gemini AI Pro plan, waiving the usual subscription cost of Rs 1,950 per month or Rs 19,500 annually.

This offer unlocks various benefits for students, including expanded storage, AI-powered text-to-video tools, seamless Gemini integration, and more.

Previously, only students in the U.S. were eligible for this complimentary offer.

Conditions to avail of the offer

Google has set the conditions needed for a candidate to be eligible for the offer: 

•  18 years of age or older

•  Resident of India

•  Verify your student status using a valid school email address as and when requested.

•  Personal Google Account

•  Google Payments account with a qualifying form of payment when signing up; and

•  Subscribe to Google AI Pro through the Google Play Store

Once the 1-year free offer ends, Google will charge the standard monthly charge for a Google One subscription.

Eligible students can take advantage of this offer by signing up through Google’s official promotion page. Registration must be completed by September 15, 2025, to gain access.

“We’re already seeing students use the Gemini app for diverse use cases, from understanding complex topics and preparing for job interviews to sparking creative ideas. Our mission is to empower every student with the AI tools they need to advance their learning and unlock their creativity,” the company said in a statement.

Other benefits

The plan includes 2 TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos to provide plenty of space for storing and backing up academic projects, media, and research.
