Blinkit ambulances to start an in-house paramedic training program
Zomato’s quick-commerce arm, Blinkit, started an ambulance service in Gurugram a few months back. In a recent LinkedIn post, Deepinder Goyal commended the ambulance team and shared that they are introducing an in-house paramedic training program to boost services.

He shared that they started with the aim of providing ambulance services in 10 minutes, just like groceries are sent.
However, he mentioned it as one of the hardest and most resource-intensive challenges they had ever taken.
“But we are not backing down,” Goyal firmly said.
He shared how they started with 5 ambulances at the beginning of the year in Gurugram, and currently, they have 12.
“From serving a small area around Golf Course Road, we have now extended the service to cover almost half of Gurugram,” he shared.
Goyal further explained how his team responded to 594 calls, 50% of which were critical emergencies.
“Today, our 12 ambulances across 6 depots reach patients within 10 minutes, 83% of the time,” he said.
He went on saying that behind these emergency cases, there is a human being and their family who experience fear and hope, desperation and relief.
“We discovered how hesitant people still are to call an ambulance, even in critical moments,” the Zomato CEO remarked. “Many prefer personal cars or cabs, afraid help won’t arrive on time.”
Goyal elaborated that finding and training paramedics who can deliver not just medical aid is crucial.
“Our team is now building an in-house paramedic training program to raise the bar of emergency care in India,” Deepinder Goyal announced.
He claimed that Blinkit Ambulances isn’t just a project for them but a responsibility they carry close to their hearts.
“It’s tough, it’s emotional, and it’s still Day 1,” he said.

The Zomato boss further shared that they are committed to making Blinkit Ambulances better and that they will not stop learning until people develop trust in them.
“Has Blinkit Ambulances helped you, or your near and dear ones?” Deepinder Goyal asked while concluding the post. “We would love to hear your story – will serve as fuel for us and the Ambulances team to keep going.”
Incidentally, with a market capitalisation exceeding Titan's, Zomato parent Eternal Ltd. was recently ranked as the 24th most valuable company on the Nifty 50 index.
