One user shared the practical challenges of the lady’s idea saying, “Tried doing exactly this in Bangalore in 2019-20. – Maids/cooks are notoriously hard to manage – Logistics of grocery management was also hard, maybe much easier now thanks to services like Zepto/Instamart – Folks were willing to pay the premium, but never stuck to the meal plan."
A second user commented, “This is an excellent idea. Don’t understand what’s making people mad. Isn’t this what Urban Company did for salons, grooming, repairs, furniture, cleaning, painting etc? They’re trained, follow a checklist of standards, etc. Why not cooks?"
Another user wrote, “So true!! Protein deficiency is the biggest untapped market in India."
One individual mentioned, “Would love this but also people need to start cooking for themselves. It’s shocking how many people don’t know how to cook in their 20s."
