In a recent episode of The 1% Club Show with Sharan Hegde, Shaadi.com CEO Anupam Mittal was asked about his thoughts on the Pakistani version of the business reality TV series Shark Tank.
Mittal reacts on Shark Tank Pakistan
Mittal recalled watching a few clips from the show and humorously remarked, “Bhai, ho raha kya wahan pe?”
Then he added in a lighthearted tone, “I’ll be honest, for a little I have seen, it was really funny because there are a few things that are fundamentally, technically wrong.”
Then the Shark Tank India judge went on to explain on a serious note that for India to progress, it is important that her neighbors also have economic growth. Otherwise, the neighboring countries will keep creating trouble for India.
“If we as a country want to progress and become a real superpower, then it is very important that our neighboring countries also have economic growth. When you don’t have growth, when you don’t have economic growth, you will create trouble,” Mittal said.
According to the Indian entrepreneur and angel investor, the economic productivity in Pakistan would not only benefit its citizens but will also aid India’s progress.
“If Pakistan is not productive, it will create trouble, and that trouble we have to live with, which will slow us down. So, it is in our best interest that Shark Tank Pakistan inspires their entire country and puts them to work in the right direction so their economy also grows,” the Shaadi.com boss elaborated.
Despite the humor, Mittal sincerely hoped that the Shark Tank show could catalyze positive change for Pakistan.
Aman Gupta joins in
Adding to the conversation, boAt Lifestyle founder and another Shark Tank India judge, Aman Gupta, shared, “I have seen some reels, and some people have tagged me. That 300 crore rupay someone was giving was interesting. Arey, 300 crore Pakistan leke aaye hum, hum toh aisi companies pe invest kar dete hai,” Gupta commented, blending humor with understanding from his personal experience in the business.
