Her words have started fresh discussions about how people talk about their own country and why she chooses to focus on the positive parts of her life in India.

Why Julia Chaigneau Says She Chooses Positivity When Speaking About India

Chaigneau explained that she makes a conscious effort to speak about the good things she experiences.

“Not because there are no negative things, I’m not oblivious, but because there is already so much hate about the country online,”she wrote.

She added that while many people respond with warm and kind messages, she also receives rude remarks. What stood out to her was that a large part of the harsh comments came from some Indians themselves. Many of them expressed a strong belief that “nothing will change,” which she understands but finds disheartening.

Chaigneau noted that India does have issues that need attention, such as weak infrastructure, lack of civic sense, and problems in education.

She also mentioned the concern many citizens have about “the 30% taxes.” But she argued that anger alone cannot fix these problems. She hopes people will try to look at what works and then put effort toward improving what does not.

Sharing her own experiences from France, she said citizens there take action when something is broken or when new laws upset them.“Growing up in France, when things didn't work… I used to see people come down in the street and fight against it, she wrote.

Even though people in France complain often, she said they still defend their country when they are abroad.

Why She Chose India and What She Wants People to Focus On

Chaigneau said she decided to live in India because she sees great value in the country.“For me there are so many incredible things in India that need to be acknowledged and cherished; that's why I made my home here,”she shared.

She believes the only way to fix problems is for citizens to work together instead of spreading anger online.

“The parts that don’t work need people to come together and work on them instead of spreading negativity,”she said.

Her post has led many readers to reflect on their own views. Several people agreed that change requires action, steady effort, and a more supportive tone rather than constant blame.
