Reliance Retail Limited has acquired the brand Pahadi Local along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition adds a fast-growing, nature-led Indian beauty brand to Reliance Retail’s expanding portfolio as the company continues to build and scale purpose-driven consumer brands through its extensive retail and digital ecosystem.

About Pahadi Local

Founded in 2018, Pahadi Local has carved a niche in India’s skincare and wellness landscape with formulations inspired by traditional Himalayan ingredients and wellness practices.

The brand is known for its clean formulations, conscious sourcing methods and products derived from ingredients native to mountain regions such as Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.

One of its most recognisable ingredients is Gutti Ka Tel (apricot kernel oil), which has gained popularity among consumers for its skincare benefits and reflects the brand’s focus on indigenous, minimally processed ingredients.

The company also works closely with women-led self-help groups in Himalayan communities to source ingredients, supporting local livelihoods while contributing to initiatives in healthcare, education and environmental conservation.

Commenting on the acquisition, Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said the company aims to nurture brands that blend authenticity with innovation and strong consumer relevance.

She added that Pahadi Local’s roots in Himalayan wellness traditions and commitment to responsible sourcing make it a compelling addition to Reliance’s beauty ecosystem.

Reliance Retail plans to scale the brand by leveraging its nationwide omni-channel network, supply chain capabilities and digital commerce platforms.

The founding team of Pahadi Local will continue to play a key role in the brand’s creative direction and product development, ensuring continuity in its philosophy and product vision.
