“Namita is my favourite shark, it was outstanding to be with Ashneer Grover…I didn’t like Anupam Mittal for 1 or 2 seasons,” says Aman Gupta

Aman Gupta, who has been a judge in all five seasons of Shark Tank India and has spent his time with new and OG Sharks, candidly opened up about his relationships with them.

“I don’t like all of them,” Gupta said unapologetically in a recent interview with Humans of Bombay.

He stated that while he has no problems sharing the names, the producers of Shark Tank India won't like it. 

"I am told that don’t take names because he is a fellow shark. I can take names if I want to but then I am asked to not do that,” Gupta disclosed in the interview.

Praising fellow shark Namita Thapar, he remarked, “Namita is my favourite shark. She is outstanding. She is who she is and since season 1, we have had a wonderful bond and it’s been growing every year. We also do a lot of deals together.”

He also admitted to not getting along with Anupam Mittal in the beginning.

“I didn’t like him for 1 or 2 seasons and then our relationship actually grew,” he admitted. “We now go for family holidays together. When we go on the Shark Tank India set, we sometimes fight. It’s banter and competitiveness which comes out. So Anupam and my relationship has grown from season 1 to 5.”

However, the two entrepreneurs later became good friends, as reflected in subsequent seasons of Shark Tank India.

Equation with Ashneer Grover 

Gupta revealed in the interview that he had stayed in touch with season one judge Ashneer Grover even after the latter’s exit from the show.

“It was outstanding to be with him in season 1,” Gupta said about Grover. “Till date, those memes are very popular where we look at each other and laugh. People still remember our banter.”
