The Filter Coffee, a popular South Indian restaurant chain in Bengaluru, has reported a strong rise in demand on Zomato.
The brand has grown 32X in yearly order volume between 2019 and 2024. With nine restaurants already open and four more coming by FY 2025–26, it continues to grow across the city.
Bengaluru’s The Filter Coffee Grew 32X on Zomato
The Bengaluru-based restaurant was founded in 2014 by childhood friends Avinit Bagri and Sanskrit Iyer, who wanted to serve simple, traditional South Indian food made with care and freshness. Their focus has helped them build a loyal customer base in Bengaluru.
Speaking about the growth, the co-founders said, “Our mission has always been to offer high-quality, traditional recipes at affordable prices, served with generosity. With Zomato’s support, we’ve been able to bring this experience to more people.”
The brand expanded its menu to include rasam-based soups, snacks, mains, regional dishes, desserts, and filter coffee. This helped increase the average order value and brought in more regular customers.
Today, The Filter Coffee has a 65% repeat user base, and its order conversion rate has grown from 16% to 19%, without relying on discounts.
Commenting on the success, Aditya Mangla, CEO – Food Delivery, Eternal, said, “It’s inspiring to see brands like The Filter Coffee grow rapidly while also staying true to cultural roots… Helping restaurants grow on our platform is a top priority for us.”
Zomato has also rolled out several tools to make it easier for small restaurants to grow. These include a DIY onboarding tool that gets restaurants listed on the app in about 15 minutes, and the Restaurant Services Hub, which gives access to verified vendors for licensing, staffing, and hygiene checks.
In some cities, new restaurants also get 0% commission for the first 30 days, along with ad credits and Hyperpure credits.
New Outlets and Expansion Plans Across Bengaluru
Since early 2025, the restaurant chain has been opening more outlets across the city. One new store launched this year, and four more are planned by March 2026.
The brand continues to focus on South Indian flavours made in a simple, familiar way using ingredients from the right regions.
As demand for homestyle South Indian food grows in Bengaluru, The Filter Coffee is becoming a trusted choice for many households. With steady growth and strong customer loyalty, the chain is set to reach even more neighbourhoods in the year ahead.
