Good Vibes Entertainment Founders Dennis & Maxwel Nagpal
In 2016, two brothers—Maxwel and Dennis Nagpal—stood at a crossroads. With nearly two decades of combined experience, they had carved out successful careers in the Indian media and entertainment industry.
Maxwel, an expert in media production, had spent years working with international agencies on documentaries and non-fiction content.
Dennis, on the other hand, had built a name for himself in Mumbai’s media & entertainment (M&E) industry as a reputed creative producer and casting agent, finding hidden talent from across India for reality shows and major productions.
But despite their individual successes, something was missing. Both brothers had harboured a dream of building something of their own—a creative startup where they could shape the content on their own terms.
So, in August 2016, they pooled together ₹3 lakh and launched Good Vibes Entertainment LLP, initially as a small casting agency based out of Delhi.
Little did they know that in just a few years, they would transform their modest startup into a multi-crore video production company, having industry giants like Amazon India, LG Electronics, Google India, and DDB Mudra as some of their clients.
HUMBLE BEGINNING:
Starting out was anything but easy.
While both brothers were industry veterans, running a business was an entirely different challenge. They had no prior entrepreneurial experience, no external funding, and operated out of a tiny old office in South Delhi.
However, what they did have was contacts—plenty of them.
Years of networking in the Indian media and entertainment industry had allowed them to build strong relationships with actors, production houses, advertising agencies, and TV networks. They quickly tapped into this network, positioning Good Vibes as a reliable casting agency.
Their efforts paid off. In their first year, they generated ₹23 lakh in revenue, primarily by placing talent in reality TV shows like MTV Splitsvilla, Love School, India’s Next Top Model, etc. But soon, they hit a roadblock.
“The casting business, while profitable, was limited in scope. It depended heavily on market demands, and we realised that for the company’s long-term sustainability, we needed to diversify beyond casting,” shares Maxwel Nagpal, the co-founder of Good Vibes, during an exclusive interview with Startup Pedia.
THE BIG PIVOT:

In early 2018, Good Vibes expanded into full-scale video production and creative services.
It was a bold move. Video production is a highly competitive market, dominated by established players with deep pockets. Moreover, since the Nagpal brothers were still very young, many potential clients were hesitant to trust them with big-budget projects.
Since the beginning, we’ve had a simple philosophy - no matter how big or small the project, we would always deliver world-class quality—on time, every time,” explains the other co-founder, Dennis Nagpal, to Startup Pedia.
Slowly but surely, their reputation grew through word-of-mouth referrals. They started landing production contracts from big media houses, thanks to their existing industry relationships.
By the end of their first year in video production, they had already generated ₹1.5 crore in revenue.
SURVIVING THE PANDEMIC ERA:

Just when things were starting to look promising, the COVID-19 pandemic hit in early 2020.
Like most small businesses, Good Vibes suffered. Film and TV productions came to a grinding halt, and the company struggled to stay afloat.
With their revenue streams drying up, there were many instances when it became nearly impossible to pay salaries and office rent.
But a lifeline arrived in the form of post-production work. A few major corporate clients like Vivo Mobiles and ByteDance (TikTok) needed editing & other post-production services and Good Vibes seized the opportunity.
Additionally, they had secured Amazon India as a client the previous year, and the large company continued to provide regular digital content work despite the pandemic.
While many small creative agencies might have crumbled under enormous pressure, Good Vibes adapted and survived. By the time lockdowns eased, the company had not only stayed afloat but emerged stronger than ever.

Despite their success and offices in Delhi & Mumbai, the Nagpal brothers are not slowing down. Their next big goal is to expand into Bangalore, tapping into the city's booming startup ecosystem.

“Good Vibes has been profitable for many years now, but we’ll be looking for strategic investors who understand the creative industry and can help us grow even further,” says Maxwel Nagpal.
The company is also focused on growing its international client base, targeting global brands and production houses looking for high-quality video production in India.

With their strong reputation, established client base, and passion for creativity, the Nagpal brothers are well-positioned to capitalise on this growth.
What started as a small casting agency has now become a powerhouse in the Indian creative industry. Their journey proves that persistence, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to quality can overcome any challenge.
And with Good Vibes spreading fast, this is just the beginning of their story.
