Bengaluru-based deep-tech startup Adevair Technologies recently conducted real-world testing of its smart pollution mask, Securio, in the city’s busy traffic conditions, demonstrating how wearable technology could help individuals monitor air quality and health risks in real time. The smart mask tracks real-time air quality, predicts health risks, and even sends SOS alerts in emergencies.

The field test, carried out in dense urban traffic zones in Bengaluru, is part of the company’s effort to validate the mask’s performance in highly polluted environments such as congested roads, commuting corridors, and industrial areas.

The trial marks an important step toward bringing the AI-powered wearable closer to commercial launch.

During the test, the Securio mask was used in heavy traffic areas to monitor localised air pollution levels and evaluate how the device alerts users to harmful environmental conditions.

What is Securio?

The wearable integrates environmental sensors, health monitoring tools, and a mobile app ecosystem to provide real-time insights about the air users breathe.

Unlike conventional pollution masks that passively filter pollutants, Securio is designed to actively measure the surrounding environment and provide instant alerts when pollution levels rise beyond safe limits.

The device tracks Air Quality Index (AQI) data and particulate pollutants such as PM2.5, allowing users to understand the air quality in their immediate surroundings rather than relying only on city-wide pollution reports.

The mask includes a visual alert system that warns users when they enter high-risk pollution zones.

Through a connected smartphone application, users can access detailed environmental data and receive recommendations, such as choosing alternative routes to avoid heavily polluted areas.

Securio represents a new category of AI-powered wearables focused on environmental health awareness. The device combines air-quality sensing, physiological monitoring, and intelligent analytics into a single wearable platform designed to help users better understand their exposure to pollution.

According to the company, the device offers several features, including hyper-local AQI monitoring to detect pollution levels in real time, skin temperature monitoring to identify potential health anomalies, posture tracking with haptic feedback to improve ergonomic habits, and SOS and fall detection alerts for emergency safety.

The mask also includes a five-layer filtration system designed to block PM1.0, PM2.5, gases, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and allergens.

The filtration system is powered by a proprietary component called AURA Core, which the company says can last for more than 300 hours of usage before requiring replacement. By combining environmental and physiological data through AI-based sensor fusion, the device aims to provide predictive insights about pollution exposure and its impact on personal health.
