Raman Gupta - Founder & CEO of Virtual Advo
The Indian legal services market has touched USD 2.49 billion in 2025. By 2030, it is projected to reach USD 3.37 billion at a CAGR of 6.28%.
Naturally so, it makes sense for Indian legal firms, companies, and startups to not just expand their offerings but also make them available with different business models.
“At Virtual Advo, we are doing exactly what is needed in India right now—making corporate legal services accessible. We've figured out a system that works, is functional, and can operate in a purely hybrid model or in-person way,” Raman Gupta, the founder of Virtual Advo, tells Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.
In an earlier story, we covered how Raman Gupta had established Emerge Legal, a Gurugram-based corporate law firm that caters to corporate legal needs.
Now, Raman Gupta has started Virtual Advo, offering small-medium and mid-sized business enterprises general corporate legal support on a monthly retainership model.
These services are available to Virtual Advo clients across the country, irrespective of the location of the client company.
Apart from Tier I cities, Virtual Advo is providing its services to Tier II and III cities.
As a legal startup, Virtual Advo provides a platform for general corporate legal services like corporate counsel on a monthly retainership basis, online trademark filings through its portal, and other paralegal services like registration of various permits and licences for business operations in India.
With this, Virtual Advo is making high-quality legal support accessible to startups, SMEs, and large enterprises.
“Think of it as an expert legal team available to you at all times,” Raman affirms.
VIRTUAL ADVO: OFFERING LEGAL SERVICES SEAMLESSLY

Virtual Advo, as a legal startup, operates under two models:
A. The Subscription Model
Under this, Virtual Advo enables corporate houses and businesses to get access to an expert team of lawyers who act as their in-house legal counsel while maintaining the confidentiality of the business.
This team can act as either a complete substitute or extension of the company’s existing legal team.
This model can be encapsulated in the following pointers:
1. Virtual Advo offers dedicated counsel services, providing clients with legal support for their day-to-day legal advisory and drafting. This model is highly cost-effective, as the experienced, seasoned counsel is shared among two to three clients, allowing each client to benefit from expert counsel at a reduced cost.
Virtual Advo operates on a tailored monthly subscription model, wherein businesses can select a retainer plan that aligns with their specific legal needs, budget, and business requirements. This structure ensures that clients receive expert legal advice while optimizing costs.
“For instance, an organisation might be in the process of acquiring another company. This is usually a long journey where contracts are drafted, revised, and signed on multiple levels. So a longer retainer of, say, 3 months makes sense here,” entrepreneur Raman Gupta explains.
Under this model, Virtual Advo’s clients will get the benefit from services like:
-
Contract lifecycle management – drafting, vetting, and negotiation
-
Replies, Notices, and Regulatory and Secretarial Compliance Advisory
-
Compliance and Advisory on new laws and regulations, like the implementation of the DPDP Act, IT Act, POSH, etc.
-
Legal advisory – day-to-day operational queries and strategic guidance
-
Policy drafting and implementation
-
Compliance, documentation & MIS reports
-
Corporate Training on Various Laws.
“Safe to say, our team of lawyers is equipped with the best practices in the corporate legal framework,” Raman says.
2. The retainer and subscription model that is unique to the legal startup comes with a flexible and affordable benefit. Companies get to choose the duration of the retainer and decide whether they need the in-house legal team in a physical, remote, or hybrid setting. Additionally, the retainers offered are more affordable than the costs involved in hiring a full-time in-house legal counsel.
“With Virtual Advo, companies gain access to a skilled legal team without bearing the cost of a full-time in-house counsel. The retainers are flexible and designed to fit the unique needs of every business, from early-stage startups to established enterprises,” says Raman Gupta
Currently specialising in contract law, general corporate, and regulatory compliance, Virtual Advo’s team is positive about being able to address the gap in the availability of expert in-house legal counsels for corporate houses, businesses, and brands.
B. The Virtual Model
Apart from offering seamless corporate legal services on a retainer model, Virtual Advo also makes the trademark search and registration process supremely easy and fast for new businesses, brands, and startup founders through its portal.
1. The platform offers a Trademark Search option that can be utilised to conduct trademark availability checks.
“These are important so a new business can know exactly what to avoid, what to surpass, or the simple knowledge that they need to redesign their logo, name, or tagline,” legal entrepreneur Raman Gupta tells Startup Pedia.
2. Virtual Advo’s 100% paperless and virtual Trademark Registration feature allows business owners, startups, and companies to get their trademark registered in just one hour.
“Users apply, fill a quick form, upload the required documents, and then our backend team files the application on the user’s behalf. If there's any additional paperwork required, we directly call the user and arrange it. It's simple, fast, and efficient,” Raman Gupta shares.
Currently, Virtual Advo, as a legal startup, is offering Trademark Registration services at a package of Rs 6,000 for SMEs. (Out of this, Rs 4,500 is the Government fee and the rest is the startup's service and process fee).

LOOKING AHEAD
Virtual Advo, Raman Gupta emphasises, is set to make way for seamless legal services to reach corporate houses and businesses.
In the near future, Virtual Advo is working to expand its service verticals into end-to-end compliance, licensing, and training solutions. It will enter the fields of filing and registration for Shops & Establishments, FSSAI, Trade Licenses, ISO, Legal Metrology, etc.
The team is also building virtual legal training modules for operations and compliance teams within organisations and sector-specific compliance dashboards and MIS systems.
