Stored food items in Zomato’s Hyderabad warehouse have been found with a future packing date as claimed by recent media reports. After the recent “fake paneer” controversy of Zomato Hyperpure, a raid in one of its Hyderabad warehouses disclosed items with a future printed date of packaging.

This raises a serious question about whether Zomato Hyperpure was adding fake packaging dates on older products.
The raid was conducted by Hyderabad authorities when a woman had died after allegedly consuming contaminated shawarma from a roadside stall. Officials found the post-dated packaging was conducted in Zomato Hyperpure’s warehouse in Kukatpally.

Report reveals shocking information
In a detailed report, it was stated that the warehouse was operating with proper licenses exhibited at noticeable places on the premises. However, the place did not have an insect-proof screen. According to the Deccan Chronicle, houseflies were found all over the Zomato warehouse premises. Also, some food handlers were seen without haircaps and aprons.
Incidentally, Hyperpure is now a major part of Zomato’s overall business. It supplies ingredients to over 30,000 restaurants in 10 cities across the country.
