The world’s first pair of powered pants that are going to make human movement surprisingly delightful will be launched shortly!

The British Columbian brand Arc’teryx and San Fransisco-based brand Skip have very recently announced their collaboration in bringing a pair of pants specially designed for mountaineers, and other active users that would support tough movements and even make it enjoyable.

What are MOGO pants?

The MO/GO™ pants claim to increase stamina and reduce pain for the user. The robotics technology in the pants would help tackle mobility issues caused by fatigue, injury, or ageing that restrict millions of people from moving freely. Shipments are planned for late 2025, but preorders can now be placed from the websites of either brand.

The two innovative brands powered by AI technology have come together to launch the world’s first powered pants intended to ease mountaineering by boosting the leg muscles up to 40% on the way up and supporting the knees on the way down.

The MOGO pants will use a battery-operated motor connected to a suite of sensors and a computer module that predicts and supports the user’s movements.

Features of the world’s first pair of ‘powered pants’

Salient features of the terrific MOGO Pants are listed below:

  1. The pants will come with a signature design module that snaps in and out to support users when needed. At other times, it would be stowed away.
  2. The pants are extremely lightweight, weighing less than 2 pounds per le.
  3. The system has a multi-hour battery life so that the users can venture out without limits.
  4. A lightweight motor is placed at the knee to provide more leg support during walking, absorbing the impact of each step on joints and making the user feel 30 pounds lighter.
  5. A light adjustable carbon fiber cuff that pads the pants from the inside and gently transfers power from the motor to the leg of the hiker.
  6. Intelligent software is installed in the pants that understands the real-time movement of the user and can automatically adjust to any terrain and the individual walking style. The user can even select from options such as “more assist” and “less assist”.
