Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha calls out Bengaluru traffic
Zepto co-founder Aadit Palicha has recently criticised Bengaluru’s traffic, saying his commute to the airport is “the most painful thing” in his life right now.
Aadit Palicha's biggest problem
Speaking on the Exploring Minds podcast hosted by Shivank Joshi, Palicha was asked what problem he would pay to solve immediately.
“The biggest problem that I have in my life is the commute whenever I need to take a flight from where I stay in Bangalore to the airport,” he said. “That’s like the most painful thing that I have to do one or two times a month.”
Echoing the thoughts of thousands of Bengaluru commuters, Palicha expressed his deep frustration about Bengaluru’s road conditions and traffic woes.
Podcast host Joshi remarked that several companies are working on easing the airport commute, suggesting a solution may be in place by 2026 or 2027.
Palicha laughingly replied, “I’ll be very happy if that happens.”
The Zepto founder also discussed the issue of multi-platform communication.
“I’ve got email, Slack, WhatsApp, LinkedIn… and on the first three especially, a lot of important conversations happen, so everything gets mixed up,” he said. “I’d rather have one interface where all that is happening.”
Joshi called it “a real founder’s problem,” to which Palicha agreed.
When asked if any company was working on this issue, he said, “I’ve heard about a startup called Beeper in Silicon Valley that was working on this a few years ago, but I’m not sure if it’s still running.”
Palicha added that he loved reading and would like to get summaries on interesting topics.
“I love reading, and I think if I could get summaries – but much richer summaries – that would be great. Maybe like a repository of classes taught in colleges.” He referenced JSTOR, saying, “They have all the research material, but maybe there’s a way to get access to college lectures that are interesting.”
23-year-old Indian entrepreneur Aadit Palicha has been included on Forbes magazine's "30 Under 30" list for Asia. He is also the youngest startup founder to get a place on the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List in 2022.
