Samantha Prabhu
Famous Indian actor and entrepreneur Samantha Ruth Prabhu is deepening her entrepreneurial journey, not just as an investor but also as a co-founder.
After Secret Alchemist, Prabhu has now taken on the co-founder role at ZOY, a brand focused on menstrual and feminine healthcare.
Partnering with founder Maheshwari Moorthy in the mission of rethinking “women’s health as a whole”, Prabhu states,
“With ZOY, we are building a brand that is toxin-free, holistic, and designed to create a real shift in how women experience their cycles."
Renowned for her roles in popular streaming series like The Family Man (season 2), Prabhu is keeping her options open in the world of entrepreneurship.
Strengthening her startup portfolio, so far, she has supported 12 startups in roles ranging from investor to co-founder.
Sharing her vision with Moneycontrol, she said,
“I’m expanding my knowledge through my passions both in film and entrepreneurship. I look for brands that have the potential to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Be it with Secret Alchemist, Saaki or Ekam, or even the Chennai Pickleball team, the focus is always to back those businesses that I personally am passionate about."
Prabhu further added that diversifying investments is indispensable.
" While celebrity ventures often draw attention, what truly matters to me is supporting the right ideas and people - especially when there’s an opportunity to make a meaningful impact,” Prabhu added.
Prabhu’s Inspiration behind Partnering with ZOY in Wellness
The current collaboration with ZOY underscores Prabhu’s dedication to wellness-driven entrepreneurship.
Known for being transparent about her health journey and her commitment to mindful living, fitness, and clean living, she describes ZOY as a seamless extension of her passion for promoting healthier lifestyles and empowering women.
Uniqueness of ZOY
In a market largely dominated by disposable, plastic-based sanitary products, ZOY positions itself as a wellness-focused alternative, the company said in a statement.
Built on the belief that chemically processed pads and conventional menstrual products may contribute to health concerns such as urinary tract infections, PCOS, chropnic discomfort and fertility issues, ZOY aims to offer safer, more mindful solutions for women’s health.
ZOY’s product lineup features a range of innovative menstrual wellness solutions, including medicated sanitary napkins and herbal pads infused with seven natural ingredients aimed at easing period discomfort.
The brand also offers a patented Snow Lotus Therapy Pad, especially developed to support PCOS management and help regulate menstrual cycles.
In addition, ZOY promotes sustainability by providing eco-friendly options like reusable period underwear and menstrual cups.
The Road Ahead
“ZOY was founded on the conviction that menstrual health should never be compromised. For years, women have relied on products that harm their well-being. Samantha’s involvement further empowers our mission,” said Moorthy.
ZOY is aiming to expand across India over the next two years through e-commerce, retail outlets, and its unique ‘Zoypreneur’ community program.
As per the company’s statement, the initiative aims to foster financial independence among women by equipping them to promote menstrual wellness solutions within their local communities.
