Apple’s latest line-up, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 11, had drawn huge interest. Fans lined up overnight to be among the first to get their hands on the new devices.

But the atmosphere quickly soured when the store prepared to open its doors. Videos posted on X showed customers fighting in line, some throwing punches while others shouted in frustration. One clip showed a man angrily confronting another after being pushed aside.

“I had camped outside since last night but the crowd was just uncontrollable,” said Irfan, a customer waiting to buy the iPhone 17. “The arrangements did not seem enough for this kind of rush.”

The Aftermath

The incident has sparked debate online. One social media post read, “Apple Store in Mumbai went crazy… people literally fighting for the iPhone 17.” Many questioned whether the store was adequately prepared for the overwhelming turnout.

Despite the chaos, the launch went ahead and the first batch of customers walked out proudly with their new iPhones.

The iPhone 17, with its triple-camera system, aluminium frame and striking “full-width camera plateau,” has already become the talk of the town.

The scuffles at the BKC Apple Store highlighted the passion Apple enjoys in India, but also the challenges of managing such massive crowds. For many fans, the day was memorable not only for the new iPhone but also for the frenzy that came with it.
