Apple has debuted with its “thinnest” iPhone ever, the iPhone Air. The 5.6 mm-thick new model is enclosed in a titanium frame on both sides.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said it promises “pro performance in a thin and light design.”

The new iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, with 3,000 nits of peak brightness, as per The Verge.

The new model will be available in four gorgeous finishes: space black, cloud white, light gold, and sky blue. Pre-orders begin Friday, September 12, with availability starting Friday, September 19.

Features of iPhone Air

Apple claims the new iPhone achieves unmatched power efficiency for iOS 26’s Adaptive Power feature and the advanced N1 wireless chip, which reduces energy consumption by up to 30 per cent.

“The all-new iPhone Air is so powerful, yet impossibly thin and light, that you really have to hold it to believe it’s real. This huge leap in design and engineering is only made possible through Apple innovation, especially Apple silicon,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering.

iPhone Air has an all-new Center Stage front camera with improved photo and video experience. It features the first square front camera sensor on iPhone, offering a wide field of view and capturing photos up to 18MP.

Users no longer have to rotate their iPhone to take a landscape selfie, but can take photos and videos in portrait or landscape while holding their iPhone vertically.

A versatile new 48MP Fusion camera system gives users the equivalent of four lenses in their pocket.

The custom main lens allows the popular 28mm and 35mm focal lengths, so users have more options to frame their shot, and the large 2.0µm quad-pixel sensor with sensor-shift OlS excels in low light.

Users can also get closer to their subject with the optical-quality 2x Telephoto, which features an updated Photonic Engine that captures more lifelike details and colour.

iPhone Air features Apple’s new A19 Pro chipset.

Tim Millet, vice president of platform architecture at Apple, claimed that the new chip, with its six-core CPU, is the fastest smartphone processor on the market.

iPhone Air is priced at Rs. 1,19,900.
