PM Modi releases special ₹150 coin on Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary
PM Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the eve of his 150th birth anniversary by launching a special ₹150 coin and a postal stamp in his honour.
The event took place in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar, where Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation for projects worth over ₹1,140 crore. The occasion was part of the celebrations leading up to Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed every year on October 31.

Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said,
“On the eve of Sardar Patel’s 150th Jayanti, a special coin and stamp were released as a tribute to him.”
He added that Sardar Patel’s values and leadership continue to inspire every Indian. The coin and stamp are meant to serve as lasting reminders of Patel’s role in uniting the nation after independence.
PM Modi inaugurates ₹1,140 crore projects in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat
Along with the commemorative releases, PM Modi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development works worth ₹1,140 crore in Ekta Nagar, the site of the Statue of Unity.
The projects include new electric buses, tourism facilities, road networks, and infrastructure upgrades to boost local connectivity and attract more visitors.
The PM said these efforts reflect Sardar Patel’s vision of unity and development. The event also included preparations for National Unity Day celebrations, with Modi encouraging citizens to follow Patel’s message of a strong and united India.
