PM Narendra Modi welcomes Google’s $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He says the project will create jobs, improve connectivity, and support India’s growth plan for 2047.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Andhra Pradesh for leading India’s progress in technology. Speaking about the state’s potential, he said that the youth of Andhra Pradesh have always been ahead in using and developing new technology.

He added that under the Double Engine Government, both the Centre and the state are working together to bring faster growth. 

Modi said that India’s goal of becoming a Developed Nation by 2047 is moving ahead strongly, and the new project by Google will give this dream more strength.

Google’s $ 15B AI Hub in Visakhapatnam

During his speech, the Prime Minister said:

“Just two days ago, Google announced a major investment in Andhra Pradesh. Google is going to build India’s first Artificial Intelligence Hub right here.”

He also said:

“When I spoke to Google’s CEO yesterday, he told me that although Google has investments in many countries outside the United States, its largest investment will now be in Andhra Pradesh.”

Google plans to spend around $15 billion to build this AI hub. It will be the company’s largest project in India and also its biggest investment outside the United States.

The project will include a powerful data center, large energy systems, and new undersea cables that will connect Visakhapatnam with other countries. Modi said this will help turn the city into a center for AI and global communication.

A Big Win for Andhra Pradesh and India’s Future

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Modi wrote:

“Delighted by the launch of the Google AI Hub in the dynamic city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This investment aligns with our vision of a Viksit Bharat. It will help bring AI to everyone and make technology more useful for all.”

The Prime Minister also thanked Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu for his leadership and support in making this project happen.

Experts say the new AI hub will create jobs, support digital businesses, and make India stronger in the field of artificial intelligence.
