Aryan Khan’s much-anticipated directorial debut with Netflix promises a sharp, satirical take on the glamorous yet chaotic world of Indian cinema. The project was mentioned during a conversation between Sarandos and Nikhil Kamath on the People by WTF podcast.

Praising Aryan’s work, Sarandos said, “He’s a very good director. The show is fun, sharp, and full of humour. It explores Bollywood in a way that feels fresh and authentic.”

Though the plot details have not been revealed, insiders describe the series as a blend of drama, humour, and industry satire.

Talking about the potential of Indian entertainment, Sarandos shared, “For 10 years, I’ve heard that India is two years away. And I feel like it’s never been more true than right now. It feels like India is on the precipice of something very big, and these are probably the most exciting times I’ve witnessed in India’s history."

He added, “Local stories with deep authenticity often have universal appeal,” drawing comparisons to breakout international hits like Squid Game.

Sarandos opened up about Netflix’s adaptive streaming technology, designed to grow on India’s diverse digital infrastructure, as a big advantage.

Features like these produce high-quality viewing even in areas with low bandwidth, much needed in a country where internet connectivity varies widely.
