Knot.dating becomes operationally profitable
Knot.dating, founded by Jasveer Singh and Abhishek Asthana, is a new artificial intelligence-powered matrimonial app that has gone viral on the Internet for how it functions and what it offers.
For instance, it only registers men who are earning Rs 50 lakh or above in a year. For women, however, there is no salary bracket.
Responding to netizens and trolls claiming women on the app to be “gold diggers,” the co-founder had responded with certain statistics.
“Let me share some stats – more than 50% of women here earn over 30L+ they're from top-tier colleges Ivy league, IlTs and IMs- working at top startups and MNCs they've worked hard to reach there,”he noted.
Now, within just six months of launching, Knot.dating has reported becoming operationally profitable.
WHAT KNOT.DATING GOT RIGHT
Unlike most consumer internet startups that end up burning loads of cash in the quest of customer acquisition and retention, Knot.dating seems to have cracked the playbook right – identify a gap, innovate the right product, stir conversations, and let organic word-of-mouth drive growth.
“Everyone said Indian singles won't pay for high-value subscriptions. We've proven them wrong. In less than 6 months of launching, we are operationally profitable,” co-founder and CEO, Jasveer Singh, told Startup Pedia.
“Knot.dating isn't just another matrimonial app. It's becoming a cultural brand in the scene of India's matchmaking future,”he added.
HIGH-VALUE SUBSCRIPTION = SERIOUS FOR MARRIAGE
Speaking about the high-value subscription that Knot.dating requires users to pay for, Jasveer Singh noted, “We actively discourage anyone who isn't planning on getting married in the next 18 to 24 months. Our subscription is high-value – you'll only waste your time and someone else's, if you aren't serious.”
“We don’t want your money if you’re not serious. We eliminate noise and keep it simple - match, intro call, meeting, family meeting,” he added.
According to him, single people in India are ready to pay to find the right partner.
FUTURE
Knot.dating, as an artificial intelligence-powered matrimonial app, is positioning itself against global elite platforms and Indian giants. The app has one goal – build an aspirational, conversation-first brand that caters to the next generation of Indian singles (both men and women).
Now, the operationally profitable Knot.dating aims to expand its product and user experience, scale premium member acquisition, and continue shaping the future of India's matchmaking culture.
