Ahead of the iPhone 17 launch, Apple is preparing to open a new retail store in Bengaluru, according to an update on X.
Apple comes to Bengaluru
The X account @Bangalorereal1, which covers Bangalore real estate updates, has shared that a new Apple Store is being developed at the Phoenix Mall of Asia in Bytarayanapura.
Currently, Apple operates a pair of flagship stores in India, one in Mumbai and the other in New Delhi.
Reportedly, the iPhone maker has leased 8,000 square feet (sq ft) of retail space in Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia.
This will be smaller than its first flagship store, spanning more than 20,800 square feet in Jio Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.
However, it will be as large as its second outlet in Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi’s Saket.
As per the leasing arrangement, Apple has signed a 10-year lease and will pay an annual rent of ₹2.09 crore for the Bengaluru retail store.
For the first three years, the company will also pay 2% of the store’s revenue, increasing to 2.5% from the fourth year onwards.

India - 'Apple' of the eye?
India has emerged as the iPhone maker’s fourth-largest market globally, after the US, China, and Japan.
In 2024, the tech giant shipped an unprecedented 12 million iPhones in the country, 35% more than that compared to the previous year.
During the final quarter of 2024, Apple was placed among India’s top five smartphone vendors for the first time.
The tech company captured a 10% market share because of a strong consumer interest in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 13 models.
Apple has confirmed that its investment plans in India remain unchanged despite US President Donald Trump asking CEO Tim Cook not to expand its manufacturing operations in the country.
