Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Snippets from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, are making rounds in the news and on social media, where he has addressed a very vital issue facing the nation. The issue is India’s over-reliance and dependence on other countries.
In this rally, he stated that India's greatest enemy is not a nation or an ideology because at this point, the country is fairly in a very advantageous geopolitical situation.
Therefore, the biggest enemy India faces right now is its reliance on foreign nations. The same has weakened the economy, limited innovation, given tunnel vision, and made it vulnerable in various crucial sectors.
RELIANCE IS EQUAL TO RISK
Through this rally and his speech, the Prime Minister has urged the nation to unite and fight against this silent but very visible enemy of foreign dependence.
PM Modi said that the more India relies on foreign nations, the greater it risks its progress and security.
On X (formerly Twitter), Political Views, a political news analyst, opined that India cannot replace various foreign apps simply by cloning them.
In its post, the handle wrote, “India can’t replace US apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, or X by just cloning them. To make citizens switch, Indian apps must offer something unique.”
“Example: UPI—not an app but a unique idea, irreplaceable in India and now expanding global,” it added.
Therefore, the message for India is clear: self-reliance is essential for the nation's strength.
WHAT DID NETIZENS SAY
On X (formerly Twitter), netizens reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech.
One user wrote, “If you give the people of Bangalore good roads, good transport, good infra we can build apps that will make the us-based apps look like kids toys.”
Another said, “There was an equally good social media app 'KOO'. Doing very well for sometimes but forcibly shut down due to lack of funds. Government should support this on soft loan to sustain and provide technical and advisory support to SCALE. Let us do it now onwards”
A third user commented, “Ban Instagram and Facebook. These are the 2 apps damaged the world and youth brains more than nuclear war.”
