After heavy rainfall on Tuesday, Gurgaon was jeopardised by standstill traffic jams.

At the Gurgaon–Delhi Jaipur Expressway, an hour-long queue of cars and buses was stuck for hours, which is being referred to as a "Gurujam” on social media.

The viral clip shows the corporate professionals dressed in formals riding the truck booked via Porter while plying through flooded roads.

Netizens react

While some netizens are praising the employees for coming up with the idea, others are criticising the misery of the employees in India's tech hub.

Reacting to the video on Instagram, a user said, "The Porter mini truck drivers have found an opportunity during these rains, they're benefiting too."

"Please share the rental charges, can have an MoU signed up PAN India," commented another user.

The heavy rains in Gurgaon have created a big mess. Regular commuters even shared on social media that they booked rooms in hotels to avoid hours-long jams on the waterlogged roads, while others complained of being stranded for hours in traffic.

"Today, from 3 pm to 7 pm, heavy rainfall of over 100 mm has been recorded in Gurugram City. Indian Meteorological Department in its forecast has issued Orange Alert: Heavy to very Heavy rainfall on 02-09-2025," said the District Disaster Management Authority, Gurugram.

Meanwhile, the city police issued an advisory for corporate offices to allow work from home and online classes for students.

“The Indian Meteorological Department in its forecast has issued an orange alert: heavy to very heavy rainfall for 02-09-2025. In view of the above forecast, all corporate offices and private institutions in the district are advised to guide their employees to work from home, and all schools in the district are advised to conduct online classes,” said the deputy commissioner.
