The plan expands the Gemini app’s context window to 128,000 tokens, compared with 32,000 for free users. Higher tiers will continue to offer up to one million tokens.

Gemini AI Plus was introduced in Indonesia at an introductory price of IDR 37,500 (approximately Rs 200), before transitioning to its regular price of IDR 75,000 (approximately Rs 400). The service gives access to Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro model along with the Deep Research feature, which delivers more accurate responses to complex queries.

The new Gemini AI Plus plan will soon be available to more regions, including India.

As reported by MoneyControl, the Gemini AI Plus plan provides multiple perks for subscribers:

• Access to Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Research
• Limited access to Veo 3 for video generation
• 200 monthly AI credits
• Flow AI filmmaking tool
• Notebook LLM for advanced workflows
• Gemini integration across Gmail, Docs, and Vids
• 200 GB Google One storage for Photos, Drive, and Gmail
• Free Perplexity Pro subscription for advanced web search and research assistance

The new plan stands below Google’s existing premium offerings, such as AI Pro (₹1,950 per month) and AI Ultra (₹24,500 per month), making it a more accessible option for consumers.

The launch comes shortly after OpenAI rolled out ChatGPT Go, a subscription plan customised for India at ₹399 per month. ChatGPT Go offers extended access to the GPT-5 model, increased image generation limits, longer conversational memory, and the ability to use custom GPTs or build personalised AI tools.

While both plans are intended to bridge the gap between free and premium tiers, Gemini AI Plus focuses on Google’s ecosystem, integrating its AI features across Workspace applications and providing tools for content creation, data analysis, and video generation. ChatGPT Go, by contrast, emphasises AI versatility, document analysis, coding, and personalisation.

The Sundar Pichai-led company has clarified that the AI Plus plan is not for business or education customers, making users wonder how it would work in other markets, including India.
