PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, said that the 21st century is going to be the century of India and affirmed that by 2047, the country will become a developed nation.
21st century - the century of India
“I am confident that the 21st century is going to be the century of India. The 21st century is going to be the century of 140 crore Indians,” he said at the ‘Super GST Super Saving’ public meeting at the Nannuru village in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.
“By 2047, centenary year of Independence, Viksit Bharat will happen,” the PM said in his address after inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for projects worth over ₹13,000 crore related to roads, electricity, railways, and highways, across the state.
The Prime Minister said these projects will greatly benefit Kurnool and the surrounding regions in the state. He said that the Union government was focusing on improving connectivity across the country.
“Multi-modal infrastructure is developing rapidly across the country and we are focusing strongly on connectivity, from villages to cities and from cities to ports,” PM Modi added.
Jointly developed by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), these modern multi-sectoral industrial hubs are expected to attract ₹21,000 crore in investments and generate approximately one lakh jobs.
PM Modi's other visit
The Prime Minister also visited Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam in Nandyal district.
“PM Modi performed Rudrabhishekam with Panchamuralu (a sacred mixture made of five ingredients-cow milk, cow curd, cow ghee, honey, and sugar),” at the temple, BJP sources said.
Chief Minister Naidu and Pawan Kalyan accompanied him to the shrine.
Later, the PM visited Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial complex featuring a meditation hall with models of four iconic forts — Pratapgad, Rajgad, Raigad, and Shivneri — at its four corners. In the middle stands a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji in deep meditation.
Run by the Sree Shivaji Memorial Committee, the meditation hall was built in the temple town to commemorate Chhatrapati Shivaji's historic visit to the sacred shrine in 1677.
