Indian Railways has introduced a new app, RailOne, to provide a one-stop solution for all passenger services, from ticketing, enquiry, PNR enquiry, food on train, to Rail Madad services.

Railway Minister launches RailOne app

Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday launched the app on the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

CRIS is the technological wing of Indian Railways and has created the Rail One app, along with all the other applications that are being used for railway services.

The app brings services across different apps and provides them on a single platform for reserved, unreserved and platform ticket bookings, live train tracking, Grievance redressal mechanism through Rail Madad, PNR enquiry and e-catering.

Earlier, passengers had to use different apps for different services, such as UTS for unreserved ticketing, Rail Connect for reserved tickets, Rail Madad app for grievance redressal, NTES app for train running status, an IRCTC app for food services, etc.

Currently available for both Android and iPhone, RailOne can be downloaded from Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.

In addition, the new app includes features related to freight train service enquiries.

Ministry of Railways announcement

"It not only houses all the services in one place but also provides integrated connectivity between services, giving the user a holistic package of Indian Railways services," the ministry said.

RailOne provides a single sign-on facility, reducing the pressure to remember multiple passwords.

The app allows users already using the RailConnect or UTSonMobile applications for bookings to use their existing username and password.

The list of services offered by the app

  • Booking reserved and unreserved tickets

  • Booking platform tickets

  • Enquiring about trains

  • Checking PNR status

  • Helping with journey planning

  • Accessing Rail Madad services with ease.

  • Ordering food on your train
