In a recent LinkedIn post, Zepto co-founder 24-year-old Aadit Palicha talked about the “serious” opportunity in logistics to build a “Delhivery for Fruits and Vegetables (FnV)” with the surge of the quick commerce sector.

Zepto founder's open call

Currently, Zepto operates as one of India’s largest direct-to-farm FnV supply chains with 20L+ units processed every day and is “growing quickly” according to its boss.

“As we go deeper into the value chain, we are noticing serious gaps in our nation’s fresh/cold supply chain infrastructure,” wrote Palicha.

“Everything from ripening chambers to packaging automation to ensure quantity accuracy to excellence in collection centre network design to maximise sourcing alpha,” he added.

Then he shared that building a business requires a tolerance for capex investment, but more importantly, “deep deep deep execution and tech capability building”.

On the final note, he welcomed “companies or talented individuals”, passionate about working in the quick commerce space and shared an email ID to contact.

“We’ll try to get back to you soon,” Palicha assured.

Recently, Palicha's social media statement had been doing the rounds when he dismissed a comment by Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal saying the latter made an "inaccurate" statement about Zepto.

Goyal said that Quick Commerce was burning 5,000 Crores per quarter of which "substantially more than half of this is by Zepto". Palicha reasoned that it implies that Zepto is losing substantially more than 2,500 Crores per quarter, which is untrue.

"This statement is verifiably untrue and it will be clear when we publicly file our financial statements," the Zepto co-founder remarked.

"However, I know Deepinder, and I know he has only good intentions; this quote could have been an honest mistake," he added.
