Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra shared on platform X about India’s rise as a global hub for live entertainment. Reflecting on British rock band Coldplay’s historic concert in Ahmedabad, Mahindra explained how the event marked a significant moment in recognising India as a major frontier for live performances.

“The moment when the world discovered that India is the new frontier of live entertainment… Coldplay. Ahmedabad,” Anand Mahindra wrote on X sharing a video of crowds singing along to the band's popular song, Paradise.

He also reposted on X, “COLDPLAY Coldplay’s decision to hold their largest concert ever in India dignifies the country’s increasing cultural and economic influence on the world stage. The success of the concert highlights the growing demand for live music experiences in India and the potential for the country’s music industry to expand further.”

Incidentally, Coldplay’s lead vocalist Chris Martin paused his high-energy performance at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday to ensure the safety of a fan who was in distress. He resumed the show only after the audience member’s safety was confirmed.

The Indian fans lauded the artist for the nice gesture. Later, he invited a couple on stage who held a banner with a special request.

Coldplay also took to their X account and showered their gratitude to the Indian audience for turning up in huge numbers.

“Thank you Ahmedabad, thank you India. We’ll never forget these two weeks. Your love and kindness will stay with us forever,” Coldplay posted.
