Recently, a pod hotel in Noida has caught the attention of Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra group. Sharing a vlogger’s post Mahindra tweeted, ‘I’ve always thought that the capsule hotel concept (first seen in Japan) would be ideal for the expansion of functional & clean hotel rooms in India, giving a filip to budget travel.’
That looks pretty cool.

I’ve always thought that the capsule hotel concept (first seen in Japan) would be ideal for the expansion of functional & clean hotel rooms in India, giving a filip to budget travel.
But how many of you agree? Would you find this claustrophobic? https://t.co/00Uq9E8mXh
Anand Mahindra asked his followers, “Would you find this claustrophobic?”
A few commented that they might find it so. However, most people agree that pod-style hotels, a new concept in India, will undoubtedly be a nice option for budget-conscious, privacy-loving travelers.
The travel vlogger, Somya whose post Mahindra had shared recently stayed at NapTapGo, a pod-style hotel in Noida. In a series of posts, she shared her experience there. Somya opted for a capsule with a single bed with a mirror, manual and centralized locks, a panel with different settings and charging points, and an entertainment center.
She highlighted the color-changing mirror that can be adjusted by finger touch and mentioned there were women-only washrooms as well as common ones. And all were clean. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay facing only one issue that rooms were not soundproof. So, when someone moves you can feel that.

A pod-style or capsule hotel that offers small, pod-like accommodations designed for solo travelers originated in Japan. These pods provide enough space for sleeping and necessities, focusing on efficiency and minimalism.
By stripping down accommodation to its essentials, pod hotels make travel more accessible and affordable without sacrificing comfort or style.
