The step ended years of stress for farmers who were unable to get any financial support because of these old loans.

Why Farmers in Jira Village Were Stuck With Old Loans for Years

The farmers of Jira village had been carrying the burden of loans that were not even taken by them. These loans date back to the mid-1990s, when some people linked to the local cooperative society allegedly took loans in the names of villagers without their knowledge.

Over time, these loans grew and showed up as unpaid amounts under the names of honest farmers.Because of this, many farmers could not apply for new loans for their fields or benefit from government schemes.

Even simple tasks like updating land records became difficult. Families spent years trying to explain that the loans were not real, but nothing changed. The unpaid amount kept appearing on paper, blocking their growth and making life hard.

The issue was so old that several farmers lost hope of ever clearing their names. Many had given up on getting any help and believed they would carry this burden forever.
