Deepinder Goyal
Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal has issued an open invitation to former employees to rejoin the organisation, saying the company has evolved and that “the door is not closed” for those who once worked there.
Deepinder Goyal asks former Zomato workers to rejoin
“If you used to work at Zomato, whether you chose to move on, or I was the one who asked you to leave, this is for you,” he said.
The foodtech entrepreneur admitted that Zomato did not have the perfect environment or the leadership earlier. However, he claimed that with time, the company and its leadership have evolved.
“We have over four hundred people at Eternal today in their second or third stints,” he wrote on LinkedIn.
“Many of them are doing their best work now. Maybe because they've grown, but also because the company has grown. We are more organised, a little less chaotic, and hopefully, I've learned a few things along the way too,” Goyal added.
He further appealed to former employees to return to Zomato if they still have a longing to work for the company.
“If you haven't reached out because you think the door is closed, or because you think I'm holding onto the past, I'm not. I want you back,” Deepinder Goyal said.
He shared the scope of work at Zomato’s parent company, Eternal.
“We are today, a family of companies. Zomato, Blinkit Quick-Commerce, Blinkit Ambulances, District, Hyperpure, Nugget, and Feeding India,” he said proudly.
“We need people who already know what good looks like here, and who care enough to fight for it,” he added to generate interest among the former employees.
“There is no better person for that than someone who has been here, left, grown, and wants to come back,” he said.
Next, he addressed potential concerns about his recent transition out of the CEO role.
Deepinder Goyal dismissed the notion that his reduced operational involvement would fundamentally change the company’s character.
“You might say that Eternal is not going to be the same, because I am not the CEO anymore. But ask yourself a question. Did titles ever matter at Eternal? I am still very much here, and I’d love for you to be a part of this next phase of Eternal," he stated.
He concluded the post by sharing an email address for his former employees to apply for a job position.
“Let's talk and find a role that fits your life as it is today,” Deepinder Goyal finished.
