Tech billionaire Elon Musk, after becoming the first person in history to reach a net worth of over $800 billion, shared a post on money and happiness.

“Whoever said “money can’t buy happiness” really knew what they were talking about,” he wrote on X, followed by a sad emoji.

After the world’s richest man reflected on the age-old proverb, netizens were amazed and started pouring their remarks.

A user said, “Money might not guarantee happiness, but lack of it can stress your soul in ways people don’t talk about. Bills, responsibilities, expectations those things quietly drain joy. You can still smile, laugh, and be grateful, but peace hits different when you’re not constantly worried about survival.”

Elon Musk's current net worth

According to Forbes, Musk’s net worth recently surged past the $800 billion-mark following a massive corporate development.  His spacecraft manufacturer company, SpaceX, recently acquired his AI venture, xAI, in a deal valued at around $1.25 trillion, an agreement estimated to have boosted Musk’s personal wealth by roughly $84 billion, pushing it to about $852 billion.
