Certifications
A 14-year-old resident of Vastral, Mahi is a Class 9 student at Sharadaba Education Campus. She has successfully qualified in junior scientist exams administered by major space agencies globally, such as:
ISRO,
NASA,
European Space Agency,
Australian Space Agency,
UAE Space Agency.
Collectively, these represent some of the most advanced space research institutions in the world.
Awarded by UN agencies
Apart from her accomplishments in space science programs, she has achieved international-level certifications from international bodies such as:
United Nations,
UNICEF,
UNESCO,
Which highlights her multifaceted involvement in academic activities not related to space studies.
Speaking about her accomplishment, Mahi said,‘‘In the past six months, I have cleared multiple exams conducted by ISRO, NASA, the European Space Agency, the Australian Space Agency, and the UAE Space Agency, which represents the entire Gulf region. In addition, I have cleared three more international-level exams conducted by the UN, UNICEF, and UNESCO.’’.
Her standout performance in NASA’s STEM Junior Scientist programme has also earned her a special invitation to attend a rocket launch event scheduled for 2026 at NASA’s headquarters in the United States. This is an opportunity extended to only a select group of young participants worldwide.
Mahi’s father, Hemang Bhatt, highlighted the significance of the recognition.“For one of NASA’s future rocket launch programs, we have already received a virtual passport and boarding pass. Once the schedule is finalised, we will be invited to participate. This will also be a proud moment for India.’’
