By 2027, India’s artificial intelligence market is projected to reach $17 billion. This is with a CAGR of 25% to 30%.

Back in 2019, the Austrian-born Gregor Reitinger, Patrick Ranner, and Leon Hartl had already recognised the potential of AI in the Indian context.

“We knew that India would only evolve as a market. There is a lot of untapped potential here,” Gregor Reitinger, co-founder of Monkify.ai, tells Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.

In 2023, the Austrian entrepreneurs set up RRHAi Tech, a Hyderabad-based startup that is working towards integrating artificial intelligence into the recruitment industry. Among them, Gregor and Patrick have permanently moved to India, while Leon manages operations remotely from Austria.

The startup’s new-age hiring app, Monkify.ai, leverages AI and blockchain technology to add speed, ease, and efficiency to hiring processes.

“We are not building just for companies and organizations managing large talent pools. We are building for everyone who hires for a job, looks for a job, and simply wants to be in touch with what new roles are coming up in their industry,” startup founder Gregor Reitinger emphasizes.

Monkify.ai was officially launched on the 8th of February 2025 and received a positive response.

“Although we went live with more of a soft launch approach, the response was amazing. From Indian companies to even the ones operating in the international market, we received a lot of requests,” entrepreneur Patrick Ranner had told Startup Pedia in an earlier interview.

MONKIFY.AI: BUILDING ITERATIONS NONSTOP

Packed with features such as smart contracts that automate recruitment tasks, blockchain technology that promptly verifies and protects data, and algorithm-based instant matches that match recruiters with the most suitable candidates, Monkify.ai makes hiring hassle-free.

“One of the key problem statements that we are addressing is the time a recruiter spends in finding candidates who align with their requirements. Manually surfing through resumes, scheduling interviews, and following up with them is a hassle. Monkify.ai solves all of this,” startup founder Gregor Reitinger shares.

As Monkify.ai launched in the market, the team had to address early-stage hiccups that their users faced.

“We were keeping an eye out and closely monitoring any difficulties users faced. Safe to say, we were (and still are) hunting for customer feedback,” Gregor adds.

The AI-hiring startup is building multiple iterations and introducing solutions at every step of the user journey:

1. Recruiters struggled with profile setup and job posting

Some of the AI-hiring platform’s early users found creating their profile from scratch and posting a job to be difficult and time-consuming. To eliminate this friction, Monkify.ai has innovated a Profile Setup Wizard that handholds the user in setting up the profile.

“It basically offers a real-time step-by-step guide that users can follow and quickly set up their profile. We have now reduced the set-up time by 40%. Additionally, we offer AI-powered job posting templates that can be used, slightly modified according to a recruiter’s specific job offering, and directly posted,” entrepreneur Patrick Ranner explains.

2. Hiring managers demanded better AI matching accuracy

Monkify.ai offers instant matches that connect a hiring manager with a candidate most suited for the job they are hiring for. Early users of the platform requested faster matches.

The Monkify.ai team immediately addressed the gap by enhancing the platform's NLP (Natural Language Processing) models with BERT. BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) is a deep-learning model developed by Google.

“By doing this, we are now able to provide a deeper skill analysis of candidates and prioritize experience, skills, and job history over keyword matches. The result? Accurate matches,” Gregor tells Startup Pedia.

  2. Recruiters also reported a 30% increase in hiring efficiency due to the robust artificial intelligence-powered automation offered by the platform.

With the vision to become India’s leading AI-powered hiring platform, Monkify.ai is currently working on new features and enhancements.

For instance, the team will introduce a blockchain-based resume verification system that will prevent fraud with a secure, verified credentials system

“Our focus has always been on adding data safety to the recruitment world. With blockchain tech, we do just that,” startup founder Gregor says.

Monkify.ai will also provide recruiters with data-driven hiring insights such as real-time analytics on hiring trends, candidate behaviour, and market demands. This will enable them to create job posts more aligned with the industry they operate in.

Currently, Monkify.ai has a clientele including Renold, SPS, Wikilabs, UnboundB2B, Veract, JustDial, and HRMind.

After establishing and solidifying its presence in the Indian market, the AI-hiring platform aims to expand into the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Ultimately, global horizons are part of the plan.

“As a team, we are on the right track to revolutionise the recruitment industry. The future of most things, including hiring, is artificial intelligence. Companies and organizations that leverage it right now stand to gain a competitive edge. At Monkify.ai, we offer them this exact edge,” startup founder Gregor Reitinger signs off.
