Social Media Influencer Launches Libido-boosting Chocolate Brand, Sunny Leone Joins As Ambassador

Sex education in India, or the lack thereof, has remained a key issue. This issue further manifests in a deep-rooted stigma that adults keep grappling with, even while in relationships and marriages.

The long-term result? A deafening quiet around almost every topic related to intimacy, sexual wellness, and health. 

Talking to Startup Pedia, Rafi Shaik says, “In India, a lot of people struggle with intimacy, but admitting it and having a conversation around it is very difficult for them. Our society is largely the reason, but again, it’s time we changed that. It’ll begin with an unapologetic stance on prioritizing pleasure and blissful intimate relationships. With ChocolateX, we believe we will cause more than just a ripple.”

Founded in November 2024, ChocolateX is an Indian aphrodisiac chocolate brand that has just launched a 100% natural, libido-boosting chocolate. It has brought in Bollywood actor and entrepreneur Sunny Leone as a brand ambassador.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Rafi Shaik, Srinivas, Kartik, Ramakrishna, and Ravikrishna have been long-standing friends. Ramakrishna and Ravikrishna are cousins.

Before 2021, Rafi, Srinivas, and Kartik were engrossed in their banking and auditing jobs in Big 4 companies. On the other hand, Ramakrishna had just passed out from London and become a social media influencer while Ravikrishna was handling his family’s real estate business.

In 2021, Rafi, Srinivas, and Kartik got together to start an event management firm. 

When the trio met Ramakrishna and Ravikrishna after a lot of years, a conversation struck up regarding the country’s stance on intimacy. They discussed how a lot of Indians suffer from wellness problems but never feel like consulting a doctor.

The group of five eventually decided to start ChocolateX as an aphrodisiac brand that wants to make intimacy fun in India but also solve the problems associated with sexual health.

Ramakrishna was particularly excited because as a content creator with 2 million+ followers in the digital space, he wanted to build his own brand and become an entrepreneur. ChocolateX and the vision behind it deeply resonated with him.

Rafi Shaik, Srinivas, Kartik, Ramakrishna, and Ravikrishna then pooled their savings and decided to develop a simple, yet all-natural chocolate that had the power to boost pleasure and performance.

After the product was developed, they started running Meta ads.

CHOCOLATE X

ChocolateX offers a 100% natural chocolate that is packed with ingredients that promise libido-boosting effects. 

Rafi Shaik tells Startup Pedia, “We've made the chocolate with stuff like Ashwagandha, Shilajit, and Orchis Latifolia extract. We call them nature's secrets to seduction. They're perfectly safe to consume and have no side effects.”

The brand doesn't just sell chocolate. It offers a complete package called the Bliss Box. It's designed to help people connect with their partners on a deeper level. 

The Bliss Box contains:

  • ChocolateX

  • A pack of 25 intimacy cards to help partners know each other better

  • A natural massage oil 

  • Blindfold for foreplay 

EDUCATION: THE ULTIMATE VISION

While ChocolateX has just launched in November 2024 and received 1000+ orders in just 10 days, the founders have a bigger vision they're working towards. 

Rafi says, “ChocolateX will become a brand that is fun but also a place where problems get solved. The current pain point for Indians is that they're already very hesitant to go to doctors for their sexual health issues and questions. We want to ease this friction by offering them a not-so-serious yet professional word of advice through our health experts.”

In the next two to three months, ChocolateX is on its way to signing health experts and developing a platform where customers can reach out and discuss their issues.

The ultimate vision is an open, relaxed dialogue around intimacy and expression.

Talking about ChocolateX having roped in Sunny Leone as its brand ambassador, Rafi Shaik says, “Sunny Leone is someone who is unapologetic about personal health, wellness, and intimacy. Now that she's the face of ChocolateX, we are very sure that we’re sending a resounding message - that taboos around sex need to be done away with.”
