India is currently facing a paradox.

Lifestyle diseases are cropping up faster than ever, but also more and more people are actively seeking nutritional and fitness advice.

While this picture may look complicated on the surface, the shift is clear – self-improvement is in.

For Arjit Jain and Gurman Bhatia, wellness was always a topic of intrigue.

“Our time in the UK shaped our mentality around how Westerners are actively involved in innovating and consuming a variety of health and wellness products. That's also where we discovered transdermal patches and how they beat capsules and gummies when it came to benefits. At the back of our mind, we knew we would do something with these in India,” Arjit Jain, co-founder of BIGME, tells Startup Pedia in an exclusive interview.

Founded in 2024 and officially launched in May 2025, BIGME is an Indore-based next-generation lifestyle brand that offers science-based transdermal patches to combat stress, period pain, hangover headaches, restlessness, and inattentiveness.

It has been roughly two and a half months since the brand launched, but the founders claim that they've served more than 2,000 customers across India already.

The reviews are in, and most of them echo one sentiment - “these patches are a godsend."

HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Hailing from Indore, Arjit Jain and Gurman Bhatia grew up together and were classmates during their school life at the Delhi Public School, Indore.

Next, they went to De Montfort University in Leicester, England, to study business and economics.

“All through our undergraduate degrees, Gurman and I would do a lot of walk-in and in-store shopping. We became obsessed with how wellness products in the United Kingdom were packaged and branded, all while delivering real value to the end consumers,” Arjit mentions.

Eventually, after their undergraduate degrees in 2022, Gurman returned to India and joined and greatly scaled his family business of soya exports and egg farming.

Arjit, on the other hand, stayed on and went to the Warwick Business School in Coventry for his master’s degree.

After college, he joined the events and electronic music scene in the city of London.

“Around 2024, I decided to return to India and do something of my own. I wanted to enter the wellness and lifestyle industry in India. The first person I went to discuss this idea with was obviously Gurman. He was all in too,” Arjit Jain tells Startup Pedia.

While brainstorming for ideas to work on in the health and wellness space, the duo was reminded of the transdermal patches they had come across in the United Kingdom.

“Actually, in our third year module in college, we had to conduct research on transdermal patches. So we knew a pretty good deal about them and their effectiveness,” Gurman Bhatia says.

Arjit and Gurman decided to zero in on building a brand of highly effective and safe transdermal patches that gave on-demand results to improve the daily lives of consumers.

With this, BIGME was launched under their partner brand The CODE, in July 2024.

JOURNEY AND CHALLENGES

Startup founders Arjit Jain and Gurman Bhatia established BIGME with a bootstrapped amount of Rs 50 lakh, which came from their savings.

Initially, the first step was to conduct extensive research in the space of transdermal patches. The entrepreneur duo ordered products from everywhere the patches were manufactured in the world – the United States, the United Kingdom, and China.

“We tried to find out what worked the best and fit the bar we had set for BIGME – on-demand results that do not necessarily require consistency when it comes to using the patches,” Arjit shares.

Then came the task of identifying and fixing the formulations that would make these patches.

For this, Arjit and Gurman onboarded Mr. Sunil Jain, a research and development expert who worked on building a concoction of scientific, natural, and Ayurvedic ingredients.

BIGME went live in the Indian market during May 2025.

BIGME: SUPERPOWER IN PATCHES

Now, what makes BIGME different from the gummies, capsules, and powders that are sold as supplements in the wellness market?

“Absorption rate and steady delivery,” say Gurman and Arjit…almost together.

By definition, a transdermal patch is a medicated adhesive patch placed on the skin that delivers active ingredients directly into the bloodstream through the skin.

Wait, what? Don’t powders and tablets do the same?

Yes, they absolutely do. But before they enter the bloodstream and start taking their effect, they have to bypass the gut and liver.

The result? Lesser absorption. More consumption. More consistency needed to see their effects.

But transdermal patches offered by BIGME work on a timed-release technology that avoids the digestive tract and directly provides steady absorption.

The lifestyle and wellness brand caters to an audience that stays busy and in a “high-performance” mode at all times. These patches come into play to equip individuals with better, seamless performance during menstruation, restlessness, hangovers, stress, or anxiety.

“Life happens…but performance? That never stops. These patches are more like superpower patches,” Gurman Bhatia says.

Currently, BIGME offers six patches, each containing a targeted group of natural, scientific, and Ayurvedic ingredients:

  • Anti-anxiety patch - relieves anxiety and jitters by grounding
  • Hangover relief patch - relieves headache and uneasiness caused by hangovers
  • Lions focus patch - offers unwavering attention and tunnel vision
  • Period relief patch - works on relieving period pain and cramps, and helps reduce mood swings
  • Sleep good patch - regulates sleep cycle and induces high-quality, deep sleep
  • Workout patch - increases performance and stamina during workout sessions

According to the founders, BIGME’s transdermal patches have ingredients that are 100% plant-extracted, nutraceutical, and Ayurvedic. These include Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, L-Theanine, Cosmoperine, and Milk Thistle Extract. Additionally, the patches have zero additives or acidity regulators.

“Our findings have uncovered that transdermal patches have at least 40% to 70% more absorption than pills, gummies, and powders,” startup founder Arjit Jain mentions.

With the goal of offering on-demand wellness and performance, BIGME is catering to a pan-India customer base with delivery timelines of 5 to 7 days. As of now, the brand is taking orders from its own website.

GROWTH AND FUTURE

The lifestyle and wellness brand has already catered to 2,000+ customers across India.

“Growth has been immense for us. Since our market launch in the month of May, we are seeing 2X growth every month,” startup founder Arjit Jain shares with Startup Pedia.

Recently, the lifestyle and wellness brand onboarded Bollywood actor Rohit Roy as a strategic growth advisor and investor who funded BIGME with an amount of Rs 1.5 crore for a 5% stake in the business.

“It is simple – people need results and they need them fast. BIGME helps everyone get in touch with the superpower inside them – one that isn't deterred by a bad hangover headache or an overwhelming work schedule. We don't make anyone wait…our results are as on-demand as they can be,” Arjit Jain signs off.
